DIGNITY RESPONSIBILITY RESPECT
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the The School for Human Rights is to develop the academic, social, and economic growth of all our students. Through our diverse rigorous curricula, community based programs, and extra curricula activities, students are challenged to become intellectually, self-motivated, and socially engaged world citizens.

A parent teacher conference is a short meeting between you and your child’s teacher to talk about your child’s academic performance and experience at school. These meetings help you understand what your child is experiencing and learning at school, and what you can do to support them. If your child is having trouble, parent teacher conferences also give you and the teacher time to plan how you can both help them best.
Teachers will work with families to schedule conferences during a time that is mutually convenient for both to attend. To schedule a conference with your child's teacher click here.

Keeping school buildings open depends upon awareness of and immediate action on any COVID-19 concerns in our buildings. To do this, we need students and staff in our buildings to get tested! That’s why we’re instituting mandatory random weekly testing in all reopened school buildings.

Please visit Coronavirus Updates to learn important precautions and support regarding COVID-19. The health and safety of all of our students continues to be our first priority in the wake of the evolving situation around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York City. We encourage everyone in our school communities to listen to facts and not respond to fear.
All DOE employees, students, families, and visitors seeking to enter DOE buildings must complete a health screening before entering DOE facilities. This health screening must be completed on each day of arrival and results will reset at midnight of each day. Upon entering the facility you will be asked to provide the results of your screening either by showing your phone or a printout of the results.
For more languages go to our Remote Learning Resources page and click your preferred language under DOE Building Health Screening to complete the daily questionnaire.

I am motivated by a shared purpose and relentless commitment to putting children and their needs at the center of our work. As a community, we will continue to embark on our shared mission to develop the academic, social and economic growth of all students so they become self-motivated, intellectual, and socially engaged world citizens.
During these challenging times with so many unknowns, we will continue to work to re-envision a multitude of ways to accelerate learning and instruction while advancing equity for all. Currently, we are working on new ways to provide safe educational opportunities while respecting the social distancing and health guidelines established during this pandemic. I look forward to partnering with families as equals, including voices and positive input from staff in ways to continue to provide a safe, healthy, inclusive, rigorous, and culturally relevant instruction to every scholar either in person, blended, or entirely remote.
