Principal's Message

 Principal, Natasha Jack

September 1, 2020

Dear School for Human Rights Community,   I am motivated by a shared purpose and relentless commitment to putting children and their needs at the center of our work.  As a community, we will continue to embark on our shared mission to develop the academic, social and economic growth of all students so they become self-motivated, intellectual, and socially engaged world citizens.

During these challenging times with so many unknowns, we will continue to work to re-envision a multitude of ways to accelerate learning and instruction while advancing equity for all.  Currently, we are working on new ways to provide safe educational opportunities while respecting the social distancing and health guidelines established during this pandemic.   I look forward to partnering with families as equals, including voices and positive input from staff in ways to continue to provide a safe, healthy, inclusive, rigorous, and culturally relevant instruction to every scholar either in person, blended, or entirely remote.

I am looking forward to a year of inquiry and learning and working with each and every one of you. In closing, as we embark on another school year, one that is unprecedented for our entire country, I believe that by working together we can start the school year strong. I ask in advance  for patience, ongoing support, and open minds in good and in challenging times. We all want the best for our students and it's our priority to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Onward and Upward with SHR Pride,

Natasha Jack
