Students at every grade level should expect to read literature that will challenge and engage them, to listen to and participate in class discussions and activities that will deepen their understanding of the texts, and to complete assignments designed to improve their writing and argumentative skills and provide new insights into the works and topics they address over the four year sequence

The Math departments goal is to ensure that all scholars are provided with an engaging and structured curriculum that supports student growth and development in problem solving abilities, analytical skills, critical thinking, math fluency, as well as to develop an understanding and appreciation of the inductive and deductive reasoning employed in logic. |

| Physical Education classes are designed to practice and develop skills in activities that will help students maintain fitness throughout their life. Early in the fall student's fitness levels will be assessed in the following areas: cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular strength and muscular endurance. From these assessments we will develop a baseline in which we will use to set personal fitness goals. | The goal of our program is to not only create programmers; but to also show our students the power of computer science and web design as a problem-solving technique. To that end, our classes exposes students to a variety of programming languages and paradigms. Our students learn that there is no “best” language or tool, but will understand the power of finding the best tool for a given task. |

The School for Human Rights Foreign Language department offers courses in Spanish for non-native as well as native speakers of Spanish.

The Music Program successfully brings together students with both little to no background in music and student musicians with experience. The Music program goal is to provide all students with collaborative and diverse music, supporting students in achieving their highest potential in the study and performance of music opportunity to study rudiments of theory, rhythmic principles, sight reading, and performing piano music.

The Science Department strives to provide learning opportunities that foster continuous immersion in scientific inquiry. Students will engage in activities aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, developing the key skills required of scientists: communication, collaboration, questioning, problem solving, and flexibility. The scientific literacy skills students acquire will serve them in their post-secondary experiences and careers.

The School for Human Rights History Departments goal is to ensure that our scholars develop a better understanding and appreciation of history, geography, cultures, economics, political systems, and civil participation. In order to prepare students to succeed in a rapidly changing global society, The School for Human Rights history program allows students to make sense of the world in which they live, make connections between major ideas and their own lives, and see themselves as active members of a global community.
